Playing Santa

We had a really good morning this morning.  We went and played Santa to some of our friends grandkids.  They are 8, 6, 4, and 2.  It was great to show the boys that Christmas is really about giving to others.  We let them pick out the toys to give away, and hand them out.  The other children were so excited!  It felt awesome to be able to do that for someone else.  I'm sure they will receive gifts from their grandparents also.  But, I wanted to let our boys see how wonderful it felt to choose a gift, and then to give it away, not to keep it.  I hope we can raise them to be generous, and see the needs in others lives, and realize how very blessed they are.  I think we could probably all benefit from giving to others a little more, I know I sure could.  When you are sick , it is easy to get caught up in yourself , and not see that the world goes roughly for someone around you.  I pray every day that God will open our eyes to people in need, and that He gives us opportunity to show His love to someone.  Because that is truly the greatest gift of all.
