Astound Your Friends!

When in doubt, tell the truth.  It will confound your enemies and astound your friends. ~ Mark Twain

It's not always easy to tell the truth.  Sometimes a family member or close friend asks us something.  The easy thing to do would be to lie to spare their feelings, or lie and tell them what they want to hear.  If a friend asks our advice about a certain situation, sometimes it would be much more convenient to tell them some gobbledy-gook about following their heart, or blah blah blah.  The truth of God's Word is not what people want to know with their question.  They really want someone to justify the way they are going , or the decisions they are making in life.  If we are honest, truly honest, most people know the answer to their question before they ask.  We know that we should be living right, talking right, and following the Lord.  We know that certain things are not good for us.  I never met a person who smoked who didn't know that cigarettes are bad for their health.  They know.  It's just that the truth is so inconveinent.  If we really are someone's friend, we will tell them the truth.  They may already know, but need some confirmation from someone else.  I don't want to stand before God one day, and have him say , "You should have told them the truth." In that day , we will find, that honesty really was the best policy.

Here's to always being honest~  Ruby Jeanette
